Thailand Wins in Triangular T20 Women's Cricket Series

Kathmandu. In the ongoing Triangular T20 Women's Cricket Series in Kathmandu, Thailand emerged victorious with a comfortable 8-wicket win over the Netherlands. The match was held at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Friday.
Opting to bat first after winning the toss, the Netherlands posted a total of 122/6 in their allotted 20 overs. Although the Netherlands struggled early, their middle-order batsmen contributed significantly to the total.
After the openers fell cheaply, captain Babette de Leede played a solid knock of 52 runs off 50 balls, while Iris Zwilling added 28 runs from 35 balls. However, other batters failed to score in double digits, and the team was helped by 13 extra runs.
For Thailand, Thipatcha Putthawong took 2 wickets, while Onnicha Kamchomphu claimed 1 wicket.
Chasing a target of 123 runs, Thailand completed the chase in 18 overs, losing 2 wickets.
Nannapat Koncharoenkai played a brilliant knock of 56* off 50 balls, while Nattakan Chantham supported with 23* from 25 balls to steer Thailand home. Aphisara Suwanchonrathi contributed 28 runs, and Nattaya Boochatham scored 10 runs before being dismissed.
For the Netherlands, Caroline de Lange and Iris Zwilling took one wicket each.
With this win, Thailand made a strong start in the triangular series, which also features Nepal. Thailand will now face the host nation Nepal in their next match on Saturday.
