Ashleigh Barty, the world number one, has won the Wimbledon Women's Tennis Championship.

She won the title by defeating 13th seed Karolína Plíšková 2-1 set in the final held in London on Saturday.

Barty won the first set 6-3, while Plíšková rallied to win the second set 7-6. Barty won the third and final set 6–3 to claim her second Grand Slam title.

She won the French Open and advanced to the Grand Slam semifinals of the Australian Open in 2019.

Plíšková, a star player from the Czech Republic, advanced to the Wimbledon final for the first time. She was limited to runners-up after making it to the final for the first time.

Despite the fact that this was her ninth tournament, she only made it to the semi-finals twice. In 2017 and 2019, she reached the semifinals of the French Open and the Australian Open, respectively.
