Sanil Shahi Aiba of Lalitpur won the open selection competition for the World Boxing Championship in the men's 67 kg weight category on Monday. Sanil, the gold medalist from the 13th South Asian Games (SAG), defeated Dawa Chhiring Lama of Boxmandu 5-0 in the final of the Nepal Boxing Association's competition.

The competition for selection has come to an end. 32 people competed in five competitions in total. The four competitions' finals concluded on Sunday. The competition was held at the International Sports Complex in Satdobato, and Rabin Thapa of HTO won the 51 kg category.

Puran Rai of the APF won the 57 kg division, Bhupendra Thapa Magar of the Nepal Police won the 13 kg division, and Bikas Lama of the APF won the 71 kg division.

According to Ram Awale, president of the Nepal Boxing Association, the players for the world championship will be chosen by a selection committee formed by the boxing association. The World Championships will be held in Belgrade, Serbia from 25th of October to 6th of November, 2021.
