T20 Series: Chris Gayle half-century powers West Indies to series win against Australia

The T20 series between the West Indies and Australia was won by the West Indies. West Indies won by 6 wickets in the third T20 match played last night, and went on to win the remaining two matches of the series 3-0.

The Australian batsmen were unable to walk again this time.

Australia batted first and lost six wickets in the allotted overs while scoring 141 runs. Moisés Constantino Henriques led the way with 33 runs, while skipper Aaron James Finch chipped in with 30.

Ashton James Turner had a 24-run game, while Matthew Scott Wade had a 23-run game. Mitchell Ross Marsh’ bat was reduced to 11 runs after Alex Tyson Carey scored 13 runs. Hayden Walsh took two wickets to put an end to Australia's cheap run.

With Christopher Henry Gayle’s half-century innings, West Indies cruised to a comfortable victory while chasing a 142-run reply target. Gayle hit 37 home runs in 38 at-bats. In his innings, he hit seven sixes and four fours. Gayle has also scored 14,000 runs for the United States in international cricket.
