  • The A Division League, on the other hand, is the most important place for any player to demonstrate his abilities. Similarly, ANFA has planned a six-month league as well as a national league this time. However, now that the four clubs in Lalitpur have submitted a joint tender, the question of whether or not the league will be suspended arises.

Some clubs expressed their displeasure with ANFA's plan to start the Martyrs' Memorial A Division League, which is the backbone of Nepali football development, just two days ago. In the adverse conditions caused by Covid-19, Three Star, Jawalakhel, Brigade Boys, and Friends Club said there was no suitable time to play.

In this regard, Nepali football team captain Kiran Chemjong said on Thursday on social media that competitions like the league should not be stopped because what will the players do if they are not allowed to play games like the league? That is why the league should be held on time as per the scheduled time.

The A Division League, on the other hand, is the most important place for any player to demonstrate his abilities. Similarly, ANFA has planned a six-month league as well as a national league this time. However, now that the four clubs in Lalitpur have submitted a joint tender, the question of whether or not the league will be suspended arises.

Officials from the ANFA, on the other hand, are confident that they will join the league regardless. When asked why the four clubs submitted a letter requesting that they not join the league, a senior ANFA official explained that, despite the fact that they were due to Covid, the players may have felt they had fallen behind in their contracts and were in danger of relegation.

He also stated that the Lalitpur club is unlikely to receive the Rs 1 million earmarked for the A Division club in his district from the Kathmandu Metropolitan City. He also stated that a good player may be unable to sign with a team due to a lack of financial resources.

According to a source, it's also a political issue within ANFA. He was concerned that the club might have a plan to sign players for the league but then seek compensation from ANFA if the league does not exist.

This time, the clubs are paying a high price to sign players for the league. Some clubs have spent only Rs 1.5 crore on player salaries for this league.

While some clubs were preparing for the league, it is still unclear why the four Lalitpur clubs wrote a letter stating that they would not be joining the league.

Some clubs had previously stated in a meeting of clubs that joining the league would be inappropriate. It was understood at the time, when Covid was down, that there was a rumor that ANFA officials and some club officials would work in the Nepal Super League for money, but not to carry out ANFA's program.

ANFA has been giving Rs 2 million to all clubs for league preparations in the past and will do so again this year. The top six teams in the league will receive an additional Rs 1 million to play in the national league. Furthermore, clubs that did not finish in the top six in the A Division League during the National League are likely to loan their players to four clubs outside of Kathmandu. As a result, they will be able to earn some money.

The ANFA league committee is working on internal preparations for the A division rules and prize money. The club has been given until July 25 to register the team. The four clubs that signed a letter opposing the formation of the league objected to the fact that the time for team registration was not discussed.

In this league, Nepali young players have signed lucrative contracts. That is why they are also awaiting the league's announcement. ANFA will also have to make rules on how to conduct the competition in a safe manner by establishing the criteria for Covid-19.
