The atmosphere on the football field suddenly heated up after the head coach of the Nepali national football team, Abdullah Almutairi, announced on social media that he was about to resign from his position as coach at around 11:45 a.m. on Sunday.

He said he is resigning in the name of senior vice president Pankaj Nembang because he has been suffering from mental stress for the past three weeks. Coach Almutairi and his team arrived at the ANFA Complex Satdobato shortly after.

ANFA was holding a meeting with the clubs for the “A Division League” when he arrived. As a result, he was unable to meet with ANFA officials face to face. ANFA president Karmachhiring Sherpa, on the other hand, remained in his office for nearly 45 minutes.

All ANFA officials were perplexed after Abdullah announced his resignation. He also got information from the Facebook post that the trainer was about to resign. Then everything seemed to be tense all of a sudden. Pankaj Nembang went down to speak with the journalist after taking a break in the middle of the meeting with the league club saying that the coach was going to resign from his post mentioning his name publicly. He stated that ANFA should look into the matter and that if he is found guilty, he will resign from the organization.

Abdullah met with Chairman Karma and expressed his displeasure. At the time, there were a few ANFA officials present. However, in a meeting with Abdullah, he stated that he was mentally exhausted and had been treated badly.

Abdullah exited the ANFA office after a brief meeting. But, in the end, no one knew for sure what had happened. Pankaj, who was named by the coach, said that he did not speak well when he came to Nepal.

ANFA spokesperson Kiran Rai then told Abdullah to rest and that further discussions would be held on the issue. He also asserted that Abdullah did not give the resignation and sent him for taking some rest.

However, it is currently unknown what he will do after leaving the position. An official who did not want to be identified said there was politics within ANFA while trying to figure out what was going on. He claimed that some ANFA officials were unhappy with Abdullah and were trying one last time to point fingers at him. Pankaj also told General Secretary Indraman Tuladhar that he was dissatisfied with what he said in an interview, that officials' mindsets must change as well for football to change. He also said that Abdullah had been smoking outside ANFA. But in any case, the way Nepali football revolved around the coach on Sunday is certainly not a good thing. Saying that the coach is going to resign on Facebook, putting pressure on him, all these things do not benefit the coach, nor the three officials and ANFA.

Abdullah, who arrived in Nepal with the help of the Qatar Football Association, has announced that he will resign in a rage. There's also the question of what kind of politics was used to get him to this point. But, even though the coach did not resign for the time being, the situation has created a lot of tension in ANFA. Of course, this has infuriated football fans.

Abdullah, who has recently been very active on social media, is dissatisfied with his work. As a result, various things have begun to emerge at various times.
