Santosh Shrestha, an athlete from Nepal, will be going to the upcoming Tokyo Olympics as a coach from Athletics.

Trainer Indra Kumari Malla was diagnosed with corona infection during the pre-departure test, and Shrestha took over as her replacement. The process has also been moved forward, according to the Nepal Olympic Committee. Gopichandra Parki had been trained by Shrestha. He also serves as the head coach of APF, a departmental club.

The team was supposed to leave on July 25 for Japan.

The corona infection was confirmed on the first day of the week, according to Nilendra Raj Shrestha, General Secretary of the Nepal Olympic Committee.

Saraswati Chaudhary, who was also tested alongside Indra, was found to be negative. She, on the other hand, is directly under contract tracing. She will travel to Japan if the test results are negative for seven days in a row.

Saraswati will compete in the Olympics in the 100 meters dash. Parki was initially nominated for the Olympics by the Athletics Association, but after receiving numerous applications for the marathon quota, it was decided to cut her name and send to Saraswati for Tokyo Olympics.
