EPL club Chelsea have appointed their former midfielder Frank Lampard as the head coach. 41 year old Lampard has been recruited as the Chelsea boss following a lengthy series of meetings and discussions. Lampard has signed a three year contract with Chelsea.

The London club worked hard to sign Lampard following the departure of Maurizio Sarri to Italian champions Juventus. Frank Lampard who managed the Championship side Derby County last season had spent 13 years at Chelsea.

Lampard had taken Derby to the Championship play-offs where they lost to Aston Villa. In his 649 appearances for Chelsea, Lampard bagged 11 trophies. Following his appointment as the Chelsea boss, Lampard expressed his happiness.

He also said that everyone were aware about his deep connections with the club and added that he was prepared to work for the new season. Lampard mentioned that his main reason for joining Chelsea was to sustain it’s image of a big club in Europe. Frank Lampard is the 10^th full-time manager appointed by Roman Abramovic since 2003.
