"We Also Have an Olympic Medal": Palesha

Palesha Govardhan, the bronze medalist from the Paris Paralympics, has returned to Kathmandu. She arrived at Tribhuvan International Airport on Wednesday morning, where she was greeted by Youth and Sports Minister Tejulal Chaudhary, Secretary of the National Sports Council (NSC) Tankalal Ghisings, along with other distinguished officials from the NSC and representatives from various sports associations.
A vehicle procession with the Minister, Secretary, and medalist Palesha was held from the airport, taking them through various parts of the city.
Palesha was welcomed at the National Sports Council premises after passing through areas including the airport, Gaushala, Old Baneshwor, Maitidevi, Dillibazar, Bagbazar, Bhadrakali, Sahidgate, and Tripureshwar Chok.
During the event, special honors were given to Palesha and her coach, Kaviraj Negi.
In her remarks, Palesha expressed her excitement at being able to contribute to Nepal's Olympic medal history. She reflected on competing under the Nepali flag and emphasized that the medal belongs to all Nepalis. She also extended her thanks for the support and encouragement she received.
Coach Negi recalled that although they initially hoped for a gold medal, they had to settle for a bronze due to technical reasons. Nevertheless, he expressed immense joy over Palesha's achievement and encouraged everyone to support Nepali sports.
