- It was announced during the visa process for the T20 Blast that they would be able to come to the UK on Tier 5 (Temporary Worker - Government Authorised Exchange)visa and play cricket. Sandeep began the application process for a Tier 5 visa on the same basis.
Sandeep Lamichhane, a Nepali cricketer, will not be able to participate in The Hundred Cricket Tournament. Sandeep, who arrived in the UK for the competition on July 9, was subjected to a 10-day quarantine under government regulations. The England Cricket Board informed him, however, that he would not be allowed to play “The Hundred” at the end of the quarantine period. Sandeep, as well as Nepali supporters, were taken aback by this.
It was announced during the visa process for the T20 Blast that they would be able to come to the UK on Tier 5 (Temporary Worker - Government Authorised Exchange)visa and play cricket. Sandeep began the application process for a Tier 5 visa on the same basis.
He was unable to compete in the T20 Blast at the time due to the non-arrival of his visa. After that, he went to the United Kingdom to prepare for “The Hundred”. As a result, he traveled to the United Kingdom for “The Hundred” a week ago and stayed in quarantine at a hotel designated by the government. On his way out of quarantine, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB)informed him that he would not be permitted to compete on a Tier 5 visa.
Sandeep asked the England Cricket Board why he wasn't allowed to play after this was revealed, but he has yet to receive a clear answer. If there had been a visa issue, immigration should have intervened. The board and team did not provide any information about the visa even before leaving Nepal.
The visa required to participate in the T20 Blast was said to be valid at the time. On the same basis, he traveled to the United Kingdom. Sandeep did not have time to consider the second option because he was told he would not be allowed to play during the quarantine.
If he had known about the same thing in the UK, the situation would have been different. No one has been able to determine the motivation behind the recent ECB report, however.
Sandeep, who plans to perform "The Hundred" at the Oval, must return to Nepal as soon as the quarantine period is over. Sandeep was shocked to learn that the ECB had asked him to leave England as soon as possible as the quarantine period was coming to an end. As a result, he issued a lengthy statement on social media. That statement reflected his true feelings. However, neither the ECB nor the team are interested in learning why this situation has arisen.
There is a suspicion that the T20 Blast team, in which Sandeep was supposed to play, is tainted by politics. When asked why he couldn't play in the T20, Sandeep, who went to “The Hundred” after being unable to play in the T20, received no response.
The big question is why Sandeep was not informed by the England Cricket Board that he was not eligible to play on his visa before he left. But even if the board had asked Sandeep to come to Nepal by changing his visa, there would have been no other option as the Nepali team's passport for the Spanish visa had been stopped in India for some time and there was no other option. However, Sandeep's team responded to the ECB at the time, claiming that it would make no difference.
Sandeep had traveled to the United Kingdom on this basis. Sandeep, who intends to play in the Caribbean Premier League after “The Hundred”, will only be allowed to return to the UK once he has been quarantined. But who can make up for the mental anguish of being unable to participate in the competition at the last minute?
Sandeep, who has played in most of the world's franchise leagues, has never faced a situation like this before. This situation, however, has become extremely stressful for him.
Sandeep will be replaced by TabraizShamsi, a South African bowler. Sandeep, on the other hand, must return to Nepal without having received answers to many of his questions.
