The National Sports Council's board meeting has been rescheduled. The board meeting scheduled for July 14 was postponed at the last minute after the post of Sports Minister was vacated due to political changes.

The political turmoil erupted after the Supreme Court restored parliament and ordered KP Oli to resign as prime minister.

The NSC's board meeting has been postponed as well, following the removal of Gopal Krishna Shrestha, who was given responsibility for the sports ministry under Oli's leadership.

There has been no board meeting since the Sports Act was enacted and the NSC's new board was formed.

As a result, the NSC will have to wait for the decision on the upcoming Ninth National Games.
