The government announced that each player would receive four lakh rupees after winning the tournament which was held in Nepal. The award was handed over to the player today. Nepal defeated Bangladesh by two wickets in the tournament which was held in the month of Chaitra last year.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, speaking on the occasion, stated that the upcoming SAFF would be held in Nepal. He said at the awards ceremony that if the players wanted to win, the SAFF Championship would be held in Nepal. He also requested the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA)and National Sports Council (NSC) to prepare for the SAFF Championship to be held in Nepal.

The competition, which is scheduled to be held in Bangladesh from September 14 to 25, is in a dilemma due to lack of sponsors. Similarly, Sri Lanka is also showing interest in this competition.

As a large amount of money is needed to hold the competition in Nepal, ANFA is working on internal preparations. There is a good chance that SAFF will be held in Nepal if ANFA can raise the necessary funds.
