Colombia eventually won 3–2 after trailing by one goal. Víctor Yoshimar Yotún scored in the 45th minute to give Peru the lead. Four goals from both sides were scored in the second half.
Colombia equalized in the 49th minute when Juan Guillermo Cuadrado's free-kick went through the Peruvian defense and past goalkeeper Pedro Gallese.
Luis Díaz 's goal gave Colombia a 2-1 lead.
